Cleaning a room is made up of a hundred little

tasks- and sometimes there isn't time for a hundred things. Especially if you're a mom. You never know when your help or presence will be immediately required!

But what if there was a way to start cleaning by doing the very minimum?

I want to share a little tip that if adapted into a habit becomes a real game changer in your home, and its very simple and I'm sure we have all heard it a million times...

"leave a place better than when you found it"

As someone who steps over messes a little too easily at times, this helps me immensely.

how many times do you walk in a room and see all the little things that need to get done or picked up?

and how many times do you walk out of said room leaving it exactly as you found it, because you "don't have time to clean that."

but more often than not, I think we do have the time, but it just seems like it will take too much time. I am speaking from personal experience.

But never mind our own messes we can make, like I said if we have children, there are bound to be little messes all around, as I type this I am looking at a princess peach wrist band laying on my bedroom floor. How did it get there? I am not sure, but it has the makings of a 3-year-old all over it. haha.

So back to this really helpful tip...

"Leave a place better than you found it"

that's it.

It can be as simple as picking up 1 piece of trash that's been eyeing you all week,

because guess what?

the next time you go into your room, you won't see it and you will most likely feel better!

it's definitely something that will take practice to remember, but as they say 21 days make a habit so why not start today!

Make it your goal for the next 21 days, to make a room better than when you first walked in..

see a dirty dish? grab it on the way out of your room and put it in the sink.

see some toys lying around? pick them up and put them in the toy area.

some dirty clothes on the floor? put them in the hamper on your way to the bathroom!

You don't need to go out of your way to do them, you just do them as you're on your way out!

Happy small steps!
